TEXAS TERRI BOMB - Your Lips My Ass (TKO Records)

website

I saw Texas Terri at Morecambe this year and I was suitably impressed even in my state of inebriation, and yes like most of the blokes at the back of the room I was wondering whether it was a man in drag. I can assure you Texas Terri is all woman but she has bigger balls than a lot of you men out there. This punk rock ‘n’ roll at it’s finest, if you can imagine the New York Dolls with Joan Jet on vocals your be somewhere close. The guests who play n this album is equally impressive, Wayne Kramer guests on a track, Marc Diamond (Dwarves) on a couple, even Alice Coopers’ guitarist gets a go and Cherie Currie (the Runaways) duets with Terri on vocals on 2 tracks. As well as their own stuff you get a couple of covers in the form of Iggy Pop’s ‘I Got A Right’ and Thin Lizzy’s ‘The Rocker’ All in all a great album and definitely a band to catch live if you get the chance.
5 out of 5

EATEN ALIVE - Issue 19 & 20, £1 each (Derrick Moore, 37 Blackberry Walk, Lychpit, Basingstoke, Hants, RG24 8SN)

Wow, my ad for PunkOiUK even gets a mention in the list of contents in Issue 19. It’s great to appear amongst Discharge and Plop’s Porn Page – just wear it belongs, ha ha. Other things in this issues amongst the aforementioned interviews, is a Last Resort , Drongos For Europe and a Barnyard Masturbator Interview, plus an Eastfield 2003 Tour diary to show you how life on the road really is. This is topped up with plenty of gig and release reviews and of course plenty of relevant and irrelevant comment and chit-chat. I enjoyed reading the interview with Darren Russell in Issue 20 … it gives some insight to his master plan. You get to hear from plenty of others too. Interviews from; - PTTB, Section 5, Texas Terri Bomb and the Kelpies. There are some tributes to punk contributors gone by, which show what a sad year this has been. Finally to have you laughing in your armchair there is Top Twenty Rhyming Slang, A Wanted ad for Richie (MDM) and Racist of the Issue slot. Well worth forking out for both issues.
