Please give a brief history of the band, including current line up.
Threats started out in 1977 as the Reflectors, went through
dozens of bass players and drummers until 1979 chose the Threats name and
Mad Mental Mick (drummer R.I.P.) joined followed by Dylan (bass). Played
around Scotland till Rondelet Records invited us to tour with Anti Pasti
and signed us after the first night - tour mayhem ensued!!!!! Gigged up and
down Britain with, UK.Subs, Chelsea, Dead Kennedys, Exploited, Damned. Split
up due to exhaustion, shit management/record company end of 1982. Gigged
again in 83 but apathy killed it stone dead. Reformed 1996 after being asked
for years, played two gigs in Edinburgh, thought nobody would turn ups, we
were wrong, two great gigs!! 2001 asked if we would play H.I.T.S, couldn't
find a guitar player so I had to do it myself, still a bit rusty when we
played H.I.T.S.but totally enjoyed the whole weekend. Been playing regular
since and thanks to Davy (bass) and Craigy (drums) Threats are exciting to
play with again.

Why reform after all this time?
My first band, the best I've ever been in, the most fun
I've ever had. Those songs ingrained in my D.N.A, my last band!
Describe the sound of the twenty-first century Threats?
A melodic sounding HAMMER on the head!!!!!!!
What is the highlight and what is the lowest point in the
bands history?
Highlight: Playing at Glasgow Apollo with the Anti Nowhere
League/Exploited.
Lowlight: The Death of my friend, Threats drummer Mick, he would have been
so excited
about all this happening again.
If you could take a vocalist, guitarist(s), bassist and drummer
from different bands to make your perfect band who would you choose (can
be deceased)?
Well they wouldn't all be from the world of punk rock and
I could think of loads of variations but one scary combination could be Cal
from Discharge on vocals, Lemmy on Bass, James Hetfield from Metallica on
Guitar/backing vocals and the young Rat Scabies on Drums.
What is the punk scene like in your area, and what is the
last band you saw play?
There is no Punk scene where i live, there never has been
and never will be cos they are all boring bastards. The last band I saw was
Menace, we opened for them at the 13th note Glasgow (cheers George!) Very
good night that was!!!!!
If The Threats were a type of alcohol, what drink would they
be and why?
AAH! thats easy, I asked the band and right away we agreed,LAGER
AND PETROL TOPS or VODKA AND AGENT ORANGE .hehehe!
Plans, gigs and releases planned for 2001/2002.
Play as much as possible and hopefully get an album out
at long last.
Any final comments?
Aye! Threats would like to say CHEERS! to Jock and Carol
@Mohawk Masters, Jim @ Intimidation records,George13th note,Gerry and Mo,Punkrock
Scotland for the gigs, Darren Russell for putting us on at H.I.T.S.and Jutters
for the contacts. Craigy and Davy if ye ever try to leave the band it'll
be CONCRETE WELLIES hahahaha!
