Please give a brief history of the band, including current line up.
The band started back in 1996 as The Accidents. Eddie
is the only original member left from those days. The Accidents had many
line up changes over the years and finally 2 years ago in January 2001 it
was down to three. Eddie - Guitar/Vocals, Nat - Bass/ Backing Vocals, and
Budgie - Drums and the occassional chirp from the back.
Discography.
1997 "Oi It's The Accidents" (iIthink you can
still get it through Ruptured Ambitions) 7 track demo Tape
2000 - "We're coming to get you" ( which is the demo plus a couple
of tracks) C.D You can't get it, Well we could burn you a copy!
2002 - We Recorded "Fluffy Pup" for the tribute to The Macc Lads
( We are still waiting for the release)
2002 - Shotgun Solution- Resolved Demo #4.00 (email- shotgunsolution1@yahoo.com if
you want a copy)
2003- hoping to release a 7" single. (in the near future).
You changed your name from Accidents a while ago, why did
that come about and how did you get your new name? What other existing band
names do you like?
We changed it for many reason really, mainly because Eddie
is the only original Accident, and we dont really play many of The Accidents
songs these days. Budgie came up with Shotgun Solution and it was one we
all agreed on and its stuck. Loads of them....
Nat- I think our other band Suspicious Stains is a good name, Sick on the Bus,
Bus Station Loonies, Letsnotlosemarstothecommies, Jif not Cif.
Eddie - The Itchy tits all girl punk show
Budgie - Cocksparrer and too many more to list
Has any band member played in other bands, if so what?
Yes Budgie has played in The Lanced Pimples, Warp Spazm,
Victims of Radiation
Eddie has played in Cheeses of Nazereth,(???) 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse
(!!!!?????), The Accidents.
Nat and Eddie are both in Suspicious Stains ( we are abit like The Distillers)
think you sound a bit like a mix of Oi Polloi, Condemned
84 with bits of the Macc Lads thrown in - how would you describe your sound
and what are the main theme of your lyrics?
Thats a unusual mix! It's hard for us to say, we've been
told we sound like Abrassive Wheels, or The Exploited, Choas UK, Eddie's
been told he sounds like Muttley when he sings. Our Lyrics tell a story about
people we know or people we have met or even people who piss us off. Life
in General.
What is the favourite song (and what band is it by) of each
member of the band?
Budgie - GG Allin - Outskirts of Life
Eddie - Hardskin - Beer & Fags
Nat - Thug Murder - Sing Together
Do politics and music go together?
Budgie - Music is the expression of emotion and politics
is merely the decoy or perception
.Eddie - Politics get in the way of a good time.
Nat- I think alot of bands think that it does, they use it to help their band
get on. I just think that music is something that should take you away from
all the everday Bullshit, and adding politics just reminds you of all those
arseholes that are ramming it down our throats on a daily basis.
What is the Punk/Oi scene like in your area?
Well it's picking back up after the slump when most of
the Punks here moved away, we now have The Backdoor and there's a new wave
of people getting into the music so we are breeding loads of future punks
and skins.
Plans, gigs and releases planned for 2003.
We played Belgium on 18/01/03, Ireland 7 & 8 th of
February. 5th October @ Star and Garter, Manchester with Menace, contact shotgunsolution1@yahoo.com for
tickets. We will get all our new material recorded in between all that.
