Please give a brief history of the band, including current
line up.
Formed at school in 1975, split in 1979. reformed for
'Holidays in the sun' 1996. Line up; Andy Blade (voc/gtr) Brian Chevette
(gtr) Steve O'Shea (Bass) Reg-Urgitate (drums).
Discography.
You can look that up yourself somewhere, there' various
Eater stuff on the web!
What was the best gig Eater ever did, and who else was on
the line-up?
Quite possibly at our old school in 1976 with the Damned & Slaughter & the
dogs. We'd tricked our teachers & headmaster into letting us stage a gig
in the hall, they assumed it was very innocent - they were just about to
discover Punk rock!
Why did you choose the name Eater?
From a T.Rex song...'tyrannosaurus rex, the eater of cars'.
Describe punk at the beginning of the 21st century.
Dead. It's been homogenised, needs re-inventing.
If you could see any band play live, either of the past or
present who would it be?
Any band; Alice cooper circa 1971/Punk band; Buzzcocks
with Howard Devoto with Eater at the Holdsworth hall, Manchester 1976.
If you could be any age again, what would it be and why?
Current age, because I wouldn't like to go through all
of that again. I'm 39 with a mental age of 25, that until a few months ago
was only 18.
Who would you most like to be stuck in a lift with and why?
Difficult one, a naughty french maid that needs 'correcting'
or a great spiritual leader from history, not sure which one.
Plans, gigs and releases planned for 2000.
To smell nice. Also 'Thinkin of the USA' with an undecided
b-side re-issued as a 7" on With An X records soon.
Any final comments?
Anyone got any good ghost stories?
Andy
