Please give a brief history of the band, including current line up.
Well, C.O. was formed about 5 years
ago now. Me and a couple of mates at school decided to form a band, but we
didn't want to copy all the modern shite - so we made a punk/oi band which
we named 'Crashed Out'.
Discography.
'Sick of Life' and 'We'll Never
Go Away' - Hammer Records Compilation album
'Memories of Saturday' and 'Fight Back' - Hammer Records 7" single
Also we have 2 full albums, both on Hammer Records.
'This Is Our Music'
'Here Now Real'
Do you do any covers in your live set, if so what?
Not at the moment. We used to cover Cock Sparrer's 'Runnin
Riot' and believe it or not Green Day's 'Welcome to Paradise'.
If you could see any band play live, either of the past or present
who would it be?
I would have really liked to see
Cock Sparrer in the early days, they're a great band. They've got a very unique
sound, which makes them stand out from other bands doing similar stuff.
Do you prefer watching, or playing gigs? Why?
Playing. I'd rather play than watch, as I get a real
buzz from playing, especially when the crowd is really into it.
What do you think of the current crop of US bands such as Offspring,
doing well in the British charts?
I think it is great. Any 'punky'
pop type band getting into the charts is good because they're playing similar
music to us and it's bound to attract more people to the scene. I know these
bands are really watered down lyric wise, but ut's the only way it's gonna
grow otherwise the scene could end up coming to a stand still.
What is the Punk/Oi scene like in your area?
Well a few years ago I'd have said
it was good, but to be honest it's pretty crap. The same faces every gig, you
know what I mean.
What is the favourite song (and what band is it by) of each member of
the band?
Lee: I've Got Your Number - Cock Sparrer
Riash: Girls & Boys - Blur
Geordie:Lodi Dodi - Snoop Doggy Dog
Plans, gigs and releases planned for 99.
We want plenty gigs this year and
record another album, which we've got new material for.
Any final comments?
Thanx for the interview - See ya.
