Please give a brief history of the band, including current line up.
CANNON FODDER all started from the ashes of Damian and
Tonys previous band, The RESTRICTED. That ended because of unreliable members
and personal differences. So i asked Tony if he wanted to try again but with
me singing, as i had a few songs already written they (Tony & Damian)
gave me a chance. We were looking for a new guitarist so Tone asked his old
mate Aaron if he wanted to play for us, he said yes and bought along his
friend Graham as a lead guitarist. Thats been the line up since the summer
of 2000. Within our first year we played around 50 gigs, and opened up for
some great bands such as; U.K. SUBS, THE BLOODY SODS, U.S. BOMBS, ONEWAY
SYSTEM, THE BUSINESS. We also got to play at H.I.T.S last year.
Discography.
We don't have anything released properly, but we have a
5 track demo floating about, i'll get a copy to you if ya wanna review it.
We are currently looking for a label that will put out our music, so if there's
any one out there give us a shout! We have got 1 song "Don't You" from
our demo coming out on the ROUGH HOUSE RECORDS comp. "HOOLIGAN ANTHEMS".
That should be out this summer, It's got some great bands on there like-
BEERZONE, THE WARRIORS, ROTTEN BOIYS and URBAN RIOT. I'm suprised we got
a place!
Has any band member played in other bands, if so what?
Yeah, as i said Tony and Damian were in a band called
The RESTRICTED, Tony was also in a band called MENTAL WARD years ago. Aaron
and Graham used to play in a band called The ROCKETS, as for me this is the
first time i've ever done this!
If you were writing a review about Cannon Fodder, how would you describe the
band?
Ugly, over-weight and sometimes drunk! Musically I think
we'd all agree that we are a street punk/OI! band.

Aaron- "Halo" SOIL

What is the Punk/Oi scene like in your area?
It's getting better, the scene is growing again. Thanks
to all the new bands that are about right now. We have 3 worth while venues
that are willing to put on punk gigs- The CHARLOTTE. The LAMPLIGHTERS and
The SHED. If anyone wants a gig in Leicester get in touch.
If Cannon Fodder were a type of alcohol, what drink would they be and why?
Bad tasting whiskey! Cheap wine! Nah it's gotta be Meths,
just because we're cheap and nasty, we'll drive you insane and make you sick!
Why did you choose the name Cannon Fodder?
We all thought we had the name becuase it's what the working
class soldiers of WW1 were called, as we're all working class we thought
it was a good name. But Damian just told me he named us after the old commodore64
computer game and the CONTEMPT song.
Plans, gigs and releases planned for 2002.
At the minute we only have two definate gigs this summer,
both are at The CHARLOTTE-
20th july w/AWKWARD THOUGHT and UNION13 25th july w/P.T.T.B and local punk
band OLD SKOOL FILTH. As for release we have "Don't you" coming out
on the HOOLIGAN ANTHEMS comp. But when we can afford it we will go back into
the studio and record our new material and hopefully get a record out!
