Please give a brief history of the band, including current line up.
The Templars sprang to life in 1991and started doing gigs soon after.
The original line-up was Carl
on Guitar & Vocals, Don on Bass and Phil on Drums. I (Perry) replaced Don towards
the end of 1995.

Do you do any covers in your live set, if so what?
Yes, we change them from time to time, but currently we do "Keep On Running" by
Crux, and "Violence
In Our Minds" by the Last Resort.
Has any band member played in other bands, if so what?
Yes, Carl played in a sleaze-punk band called the Butchers while he attended
college in Seattle,
Phil plays drums for First Strike & Oxblood when they need him to. He also briefly
played bass for Battle Cry a few years ago. I've played in a few other bands
over the years, the only one worth mentioning is Chapter 21. That band only existed
a year, but released two singles.
Name four bands (past or present) that you would love
to do a show with?
I'd say the 4-Skins with their original line-up, and that Scottish band
the Strike from "Strength
Thru Oi!". Phil would probably say an old French Oi! band like Snix, and we'd
all agree that it would have been an honor to play with the Who or the Stones
in the early days when they meant
something.
What is the oi/punk scene like were you live? And
do punks & skins get on?
The band is technically based in New York, but we all live in different
cities these days. I live near Chicago, but I don't participate in the scene
there. I can't really relate to it. New York has a good group of Oi! fanatics
and great bands like First Strike & Oxblood, but gigs are very scarce. From my
experiences,punks & skins generally get along OK. The fights that occur are usually
between
individuals, not between the two cults in general.
Do all the band members do other jobs as well as being
in the band? If so, what?
I work for a publishing company and go to college at night. Carl is studying
in Finland at the moment and works for his dad when he's home during the summer.
Dr. Phil is doing residency at a hospital in Queens. He's a foot & ankle specialist.
What is the best sentence you have ever heard, that
someone has managed to get into a song's lyrics?
Very hard to answer, but one line that comes to mind is from Cock Sparrer; "It's
amazing just how little people know about us not a thing. But rumors carry more
weight than facts..." I think every
skin or punk can relate to that.
Plans, gigs and releases planned for 99.
Well, the year is almost over and it's been a good one for us. The only
thing left on the agenda is
an appearance in Oslo Norway at a festival called "Juleblot '99". In 2000 we
plan to release a new
album called "The Horns of Hattin" and play more extensively in Europe & the
U.S.
