Please give a brief history of the band, including current line up and discography..
In 97 we released our first single 'Black Whole' on our
own label. Steve and Clarky from the original line up left in the summer
of 98, which left the way open for Mr Jacks (guitar) and
Cass (drums). Things began to pick up from here on in , we recorded our debut
album 'Introducing The Pits' in 99 , signed with Plastichead Records and also
signed a management deal with punk archivist and ex Pistols press officer,Alan
Parker. We are busy recording the new album titled 'The Face of England' and
we have our first single release in America on Rapid Pulse Records this week,
its a double A side, National Anthem and Introducing My New High. the rest
of the band consist of founder members Jerome Dagg (vocals) and me Tony Lindstedt
(bass).
Have we been in any other bands?
Fuckin hell the list is endless!!
If you were writing a review of The Pits how would you describe
them?
Well obviously Im biased but basically a perfect cross
breed of everything that was good about early punk, melodic, psychotic, sinister,
dark, a must in todays insipid predicament.
Best gig and who else was on the bill?
I enjoyed playing with The Subs just before Christmas
but I like to think the best is yet to come because we are playing The Minehead
Punk Festival next month and HITS in the summer.
Who would you most like to be stuck in a lift with why?
1.Jesus Christ cos then I would know..
2.the band(we've played smaller)
3.A lift attendant.
Describe punk at the beginning of the 21st century?
I must confess to fuckin hating a large proportion of
it but if you rake hard enough there's still the odd good band.So to answer
the question it needs a crop of good bands to give it a good kick up the
arse.
Bands we recommend?
UP/YZ, The Pits, nope I'm struggling now.
Any final comments?
No
