Please give a brief history of the band, including current line up.
We was formed in 1999, inspired by the new Swedish and
foreign bands who shows that punkrock was on the uprise again. The most of
us ain´t no newcomers, we have all played in punkbands since the early
eighties. You can find members from the Swedish eighties punkbands Bristles,
Existenz and D.T.A.L. but also from the nineties crustband Shitbreed and
from the skaband The Skalatones. But fuck them, now we´re here and
we are ready to blast our streetstyle punk onto the world. Another reason
for that we get together The Negatives was that I heard the two latest albums
by Agnostic Front, The Swedish bands VOAG and Bombshell Rocks and the latest
Business album "The Truth…", Rancid and of course the great Dropkick
Murphys and I was very inspired by these bands and want to play Punk again.

Discography.
We have released a split pic. 7"/CD-single, with
the German band Electric Hellclub, on the German label TRASH 2001 in 2001.
We have two tracks on it, Insubordination and Ready Steady Go. Recorded in
Sweden…
Our debut album "Rules And Regulations" are released the 31, August
2002 on Trash 2001 Rec. and recorded in 8 1/2 days in the KS-studio in Bottrop,
Germany. It´s 12 songs on it.
If you were writing a review about the Negatives, how would
you describe the band?
The inspiration comes mainly from 77-84 punk, but we're
trying to give it a style of our own without forgetting our roots. Our lyrics
handles topics such as living in the society today, greed of power and other
things we hate or dislikes.
I think you can say that we play an sort of Streetpunk but I don't like all
these names for punkmusic… it's aggressive but the music isn't too fast, we
try to keep the tempo down a bit but there's power to it anyway…and of course
we're also influenced by today's bands…
Where do you find the inspiration for your lyrics and do you
find it hard to write them in English rather than your native language?
We find the inspiration to the lyrics in our everyday
life and our wiev of the society today, yesterday and the what the future
has to bring…no problems with the english language, we learn it almost from
the begibbibg in the school, it´s on the scheme in school so most of
the Swedes have a good control of the english language.

Do you still go and see other punk/oi bands when they play
in your area? If so, what was the last band you saw and were they any good?
Business was the last one, sorry to say but the punkbands
don´t play in Scandinavia anymore, don´t know why?
What is the Punk/Oi scene like in your area?
Most of the punks play in bands that for sure. Here is
a lot of helps if you wanna get rehersal-rooms cheap, borrow equipment etc…So
I can say it's easy to have a band here in Sweden but the scene is SHITE.
With so many bands there should be a great live-scene but maybe the most
people are interest with their own band so they don't care about other bands,
I really don't know!!!???
Here isn't a big rock/pop scene either, so that's says it all. We just have
8 millions population spread all around this big country. Here aren't so many
labels either.
Most Swedes band is on foreign labels. Burning Heart haven't signed a punkband
for ages. There most interest at the moment is to promote bands like Hives,
INC, Division Of Laura Lee, which's a real pity. I think they have a responsible
to give out new fresh Swedish punk. As they are a big label that had a lot
of punkbands before they really should sign new Swedish punkbands, there last
signing of punkbands was VOAG and Bombshell. But Mr Brett and Epitaph own 49%
of the stockings now so I don't what's up?
Plans, gigs and releases planned for 2002.
