Please give a brief history of the band, including current line up.
L.C.B. was started by myself (Bones- vox) & Marty
Volume (gits) in late '94 / early '95 because we wern't hearing the type
of music that we thought should be hearing in our home city. We got Rick
Brat on bass who, in turn, grabbed Rob Brat for drums. We went on for almost
6 years with the same line-up, until Rob got into an accident & decided
that he was no longer fit for the band. We now have Leather Boy (ex-Dead
End Cruisers) playing drums for us.
Discography.
Why did you choose the name Lower Class Brats?
We actually got the name from a friend of ours called
Frankie. He found it in the linner-notes of the album "Germaside" by
the '70's U.S. band, The Germs. I'm a big Germs fan, so I jumped at the name!
Have you toured abroad, if so, what was the reaction like
and how did the audience differ to US audiences? And what is your favourite
place to play?
No, we haven't toured Europe yet but, it's really funny
listening to my roommates have sex right now... OH! OH!!... Anyway we should
be in Europe (mainland) by May 5th, 2001. We shall see.......... .. ... ....
.. . .
What bands would you recommend checking out?
Me, personally, I think you should check out any band
you can & listen to them with an open mind. There is so much good music
out there & 90% isn't Streetpunk.
What is the Punk/Oi scene like in your area?
It used to be crap, but the punk scene is coming back.
It's nice to see new faces, let's see who is left after the fallout...
What is the best gig Lower Class Brats have ever done and
who else was on the line-up?
The best show we ever played was in San Francisco, CA
(headlining gig, record release party for 'The Plot Sickens'). The other
bands on the bill were Pressure Point, Guns of Navarone + one other. Some
chick at the show had our logo tattooed right next to her cunt.
If you could take a vocalist, guitarist(s), bassist and drummer from different
bands to make your perfect band who would you choose (can be deceased)?
Stiv Bators (Dead Boys / Lords of the New Church), on
guitar: Johnny Thunders (New York Dolls / Heartbreakers), on bass: Lemmy
Kilmister (Motorhead), & on drums would have to be Rat Scabies of The
Damned.
Plans, gigs and releases planned for 2001.
At this point, we are trying to keep our options open.
We don't want to spread ourselves too thin. We might do a single on a small
label, but for the most part we are trying to write songs for a new LP. Also,
for 2001, we will be on tour as much as possible. Europe & the
States!!!
Any final comments?
Rebecca, thanks a lot for letting me have my say in you
'zine- I wish you all the best & I hope you wish us the same...
We're all fans
Bones Delarge, LCB
