Please give a brief history of the band, including current line up.
Were a bunch of friends that wanted to hang out and drink
so we rented a space and occasionally played some music. It was just an excuse
to drink really.hahaha.
The current members are me on Voc. DENNIS F.U., Dave"Skin" G. on
Guitar, Lu on Bass, Dave M. on Guitar and Efren on drums. Efren's liver just
popped recently so he's on the mend so we got my boy Victor (ex Infiltrator)
helping out on drums.
Discography.
A bunch of demo's, the split 7inch with Condition, the
split CD with Disavow, the Vulture HC comp and more on the way.
Has any band member played in other bands, if so what? And
what got you into music in the first place?
Dave G. played in Oxblood and now also plays in an Oi
band called Skin Disorder as well. Everyone else played in smaller type bands
not even worth mentioning.
What got me into music, well bands I liked. Like A.F., Bad Brains, Ramones,
Clash, 4-Skins, Minor Threat and the places I went to like CBGB'S and all the
places that used to be.
Please tell people about the NYHC scene and what changes have
you seen over the years?
Well NYHC to me is Early A.F., Warzone, Cro-Mags, Minor
Threat, Bold, Outburst, Life's Blood, Krakdown. Shit like that. Now we have
this cross over metal crap. It's 6 min songs of slayer riffs. Only a couple
of bands managed to mix there metal with HC and do it in a good way but most
are just a bore. There's alot of bands that do a style I like at the moment.
Like Awkward Thought, Harley's War, Downlow, Carnage Krew, Against The Grain,
Step2far, Kill Yr Idols are all a good breed of what I consider real Hard
Core.
If you were writing a review about Fed-Up, how would you describe
the band?
A band that play's aggressive old style HC with some new
energy.
What is the best gig Fed-Up have ever done and who else was
on the line-up?
At CBGB'S in NYC. We were banned at the time because
of violence at some of our shows so we just changed our name for the gig
and people went nuts. The bands that played were Breakdown, Violent Society,
N.R.S.V., Toxic Narcotic, Against The Grain and more. I liked that show alot
because it was one of the last times I got to see Breakdown and Violent Society
since they've both broken up.
What is the favourite song (and what band is it by) of each member of the band?
Balls N All, Rest In Pieces hahahahahahahahaha. That's
universal. Ever see the movie High Fidelity, we could all give you a million
lists and never be satisfied. So we'll just stay with that cus you can't
go wrong with R.I.P.
What is hardcore to you?
Well, I think I mentioned what HC is to me but for those
who want to get into real HC pick up these compilations. Sunday Matinee-The
Best Of NY HardCore, Were The Wild Things Are, N.Y. Trash, and New York City
Hardcore- The Way it is. That right there is real HC to me.
Plans, gigs and releases planned for 2004.
Were gonna be on like 4 comps coming out soon. One is
the "Streets of America" comp, another is "Boots on the streets
Vol.2", the rest I can't remember of the top of my head. I think were
gonna be on a cover comp too. Another 7inch is on the works cuz I like Vinyl
despite the rest of the world. Were gonna keep playing locally alot and probably
tour the states. Also hit Canada and Puerto Rico in the future.
Any final comments?
Yea thanks for the interview. Check out the FED UP! Web
site www.angelfire.com/on2/fedup and
